Wacky Racers is a great all-weather event, fast-paced and
fun with an exciting finale. From the start each team is encouraged
to communicate, work together and tap into their artistic
flair by having to dress a pedal go-kart to look like something
else.
Participants are divided into teams of around ten to design
and build a specified class of vehicle. The teams are provided
with the chassis of a pedal go-kart, basic construction materials
and a brief describing the class of vehicle they must design
and build (e.g. train, animal, boat, house etc).
The teams design and build their vehicle and also a towable
trailer to specific briefs. They can buy additional materials
from the trackside shop using 'fun money' which they earn
during the activity. The teams then compete in relay races,
swapping drivers at each lap and adding articles to the trailer
making the load heavier and more unstable, which only adds
to the excitement! Strict marshalling can result in teams
being penalised, creating an electric atmosphere.
Wacky Racers is an ideal activity as part of a corporate
team event and offers an excellent spectator sport for those
not playing.
While this activity will produce great benefit on its own,
we recommend a facilitator to achieve best results.
